Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium, Managed by the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), is situated near Theater Junction at the small coastal Town in Vizhinjam, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium was established in 1997 for educational and research purpose and is now a treasure house for some of the world’s rarest marine ornamental fishes and exotic species of invertebrates.
Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium has more than 30 glass tanks and two 10 ton capacity concrete tanks, to showcase the marine wealth to visitors. Some of the beautiful marine treasures visitors can watch at Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium include Longhorn Cowfish, Blue Damsel Fish, Red lion fish, Emperor Angel Fish, Moorish idol, Koran angelfish, and Orange Clown fish Banner fish. This Trivandrum Marine Aquarium has 55 different fin fishes, sea anemones, and invertebrates.
Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium is open on all days from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm.
