New Theatre is the first movie hall established in Trivandrum, Kerala. New Theater was built in 1936 by P. Subramaniam, who also started the first recording studio named Merryland Studio in Nemom. Located near the Flyover, at Thampanoor, Thiruvananthapuram, New Theater mainly shows latest releases of English, Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil movies. The theater is a pride to Trivandrum residents as it is one of the biggest theaters in Thiruvananthapuram, with lots of parking facilities and its location close to Trivandrum Central Bus Station and Trivandrum Railway Station.
