Daksha Sheth Dance Company is a contemporary dance academy situated at the banks of Vellayani Lake, Nemom, Trivandrum. Daksha Sheth Dance Company is owned by one of India’s most prominent Kathak dancer Daksha Sheth and her husband Devissaro, an Australian born musician, composer and photographer.
Daksha Sheth Dance Academy tries to bridge the contemporary and traditional performing art forms, while keeping the roots in the traditions Indian performing arts practices such as Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Mayurbhanj Chhau,Kalaripayattu, Mallakhamb and Vedic chanting.
AARTi (Academy for Arts Research, Training and Innovation) and Natyshram, a rural arts centre, are two other related institutions founded to enrich the performing arts and traditional dance forms.
